to pursue activities that catalyze and support research and initiatives to preserve life and develop optimistic visions of the future, particularly by finding ways to ensure that humanity can determine its own destiny despite new technologies and new challenges. This involves supporting efforts to reduce risks from nuclear weapons, biotechnology, climate change, and increasingly competent artificial intelligence systems. As part of its activities, the Foundation may conduct research, support programs, organize conferences, engage in advocacy, and make publications. The Foundation may collaborate with and support other organizations that operate projects pursuing the Foundation's purpose. The Foundation operates in Switzerland and abroad. The Foundation is entitled to carry out all activities useful and necessary to achieve its purpose. The Foundation is non-profit.
