FUTURE SAANENLAND aims to: a. create the conditions for an ecologically exemplary region. b. develop sustainable systems that ensure the meaningful use of waste generated on farms, in hotels, restaurants, trade, and elsewhere. c. build and operate a combined facility that converts large quantities of waste into energy through a biogas system, prioritizing fuel production. d. define and publicly promote a clean, climate-friendly pioneering role that corresponds to the Energy Strategy 2050 and the CO2 Act. e. secure public and stakeholder support. f. promote understanding and support for sustainable development and a circular economy throughout the region. g. fulfill the private part of the energy plan of the municipality of Saanen (2022) for the creation of a Saanenland biogas plant, in a public-private partnership (PPP) agreement with the municipalities.
