The cooperative aims to provide its members with affordable housing and to maintain it through joint self-help and co-responsibility. In doing so, it also has to safeguard the long-term interests of the cooperative as a whole. It strives to offer housing to all sections of the population, especially families, young and older people. The cooperative can also provide spaces for commercial purposes. It promotes coexistence in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. The Dröschschüür Berg am Irchel cooperative is politically and religiously neutral. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a) the purchase or takeover in building rights and the replanning of the Dröschschüür property; b) the acquisition of additional building land and building rights; c) the construction and acquisition of single-family and multi-family homes that meet the cooperative's modern housing needs; d) careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renovation of existing buildings; e) the construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner; f) the use of funding instruments under the Federal Housing Promotion Act or corresponding cantonal and communal laws and regulations; g) the rental of commercial spaces and apartments on a cost-rent basis; h) the ideal and material support of efforts aimed at affordable, healthy and good housing and working conditions. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not profit-oriented. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives. It is a member of Wohnbaugenossenschaften Schweiz - Verband der gemeinnützigen Wohnbauträger (WBG Schweiz).
