The cooperative aims to preserve the Jakobshof as a whole for the long term, maintain its qualities, develop it carefully, and permanently remove it from speculation. It promotes communal and ecological living and housing forms. It fosters coexistence in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity. It ensures the management of the agricultural land belonging to the property. It makes the courtyard available to the non-profit association 'Hofwärts' for pedagogical and cultural offers. It seeks to achieve this purpose through: a. the ecological renovation and conversion of existing buildings according to the cooperative's needs; b. careful and ongoing maintenance, periodic renewal of existing buildings or construction of replacement new buildings; c. the active participation of members in the management of the cooperative and the maintenance of the buildings; d. the rental of apartments on the basis of cost rent; e. ideal and material support for efforts that correspond to the cooperative's goals; f. the participation of members in the management of agricultural land. The cooperative's activity is non-profit and not profit-oriented. The cooperative can also engage in other economic activities, provided they are in the interest and for the benefit of its members and do not contradict the above-mentioned purpose of the cooperative. The cooperative can acquire additional land, building rights, and buildings if this acquisition serves the purpose of the cooperative. The cooperative can participate in undertakings with similar or identical goals and acquire membership in umbrella organizations of non-profit housing construction.
