The cooperative pursues the purpose of providing its members and the city of Kaiserstuhl with good, ecologically and socially sustainable, as well as affordable living and working space, and to maintain it, to provide for the necessary infrastructure services and cultural life, and to undertake everything that serves a livable Kaiserstuhl. It strives to offer all services to all population groups, especially seniors and people with disabilities. It promotes community and coexistence in the sense of overall social responsibility and mutual solidarity, also in its residential buildings. It takes into account the needs of the residents and workers of Kaiserstuhl in its actions. It seeks to achieve this purpose in particular through: the acquisition of building land and building rights, the acquisition or construction of properties, the rental of residential or commercial spaces, careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renewal of its buildings, the care and operation of cultural assets, the purchase and operation of infrastructure facilities to supply its members and the residents of Kaiserstuhl, the administration and rental of apartments and workspaces on the basis of cost rent, the promotion of cooperative and cultural activities in its own settlements and in Kaiserstuhl, the promotion of neighborhood solidarity and strengthening of the community of its members, the promotion of self-organization in its buildings and settlements. The cooperative can claim funding instruments under the federal housing promotion law or corresponding cantonal and communal laws. The cooperative can participate in companies and organizations with the same or similar objectives. It is a member of wohnbaugenossenschaften schweiz - association of non-profit housing developers.
