The foundation supports the education and training of young people and adults. It promotes pedagogical and scientific activities and projects at various levels of education and training, from primary school to university level. In particular, it also promotes vocational, cultural, social and musical education and training. As long as the Engelberg monastery operates schools and carries out projects in education and training, the foundation primarily supports the education of young people at the monastery's schools. This support is provided primarily through the granting of scholarships to students who (or whose parents or guardians) are unable to pay the school fees that cover the monastery's costs. To the extent that the monastery incurs costs from operating the various schools that cannot be passed on to the students, support can also be provided through direct payments to the monastery itself, specifically to finance individual projects.
