The GWS is the only authoritative section within the SKG that represents the interests of the Berger Blanc Suisse breed in Switzerland. The purpose, aim and goal of the association are, in particular: a) To support and monitor the breeding and dissemination of the Berger Blanc Suisse as a particularly suitable family, companion and working dog, in accordance with the applicable standard; b) To support the efforts of the SKG; c) To uphold the legal animal welfare regulations; d) To conduct breed surveys, exhibitions, and support other canine events; e) To promote canine knowledge and support the breeding activities of its members; f) To promote contacts between breeders and interested parties; g) To foster friendly relationships among members and promote sociability; h) To organize, promote and monitor measures that are in the general interest of the GWS and the SKG; i) To promote youth understanding of the special characteristics of the Berger Blanc Suisse; k) To inform members about the association's activities within the GWS at least three times a year; l) To maintain international relations, to the extent that they address common problems or serve to promote mutual understanding; m) To educate and train the Berger Blanc Suisse. The GWS aims to fulfill these tasks as follows: a) Advising interested parties on the purchase of a Berger Blanc Suisse; b) Monitoring compliance with the breed standard and communicating it to interested parties; c) Promoting the exchange of experiences among members; d) Conducting breed surveys; e) Organizing and conducting club-internal exhibitions and performance tests; f) Selecting and providing breed-specific training for judge candidates and judges, in accordance with the conditions set out in the SKG statutes Art. 42-46 and the Exhibition Judges' Regulations of the SKG (ARO); g) Founding and supporting regional groups (RG).
