The purpose of the association is to promote animal welfare; support state and private animal shelters in European countries through material, financial and personal assistance; take in and mediate stray and mistreated animals from Switzerland and abroad to suitable individuals who guarantee species-appropriate care and conscientious management. The mediation of animals is carried out without the intention of making a profit. The adoption fee serves as compensation for expenses incurred through veterinary care, temporary accommodation and transport. Promotion of cooperation with domestic and foreign animal welfare associations and organizations; taking measures and providing advice on health protection (e.g. through vaccination and parasite control) and preventing the further reproduction of animals through castration campaigns. Protecting animals from malicious, intentional and reckless cruelty and mistreatment. Establishing foster homes for abandoned, mistreated or surrendered animals. The association can cooperate with Swiss and foreign organizations with the same or similar goals and become a member, as well as rent, lease, acquire, encumber, rent out, lease out, sell or build properties and buildings in Switzerland and abroad for animal welfare purposes (e.g. operating a shelter). The association is politically and denominationally independent. The association is exclusively non-profit and does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. The organs are active on a voluntary basis.
