The foundation aims to support and promote social, educational and cultural areas of society, in particular by promoting the following areas: a) Scientific research, promotion, study and education in science and technology, art and culture b) Education and health promotion c) Preservation and promotion of cultural and ecological lifestyles. The foundation can engage in various activities that serve these purposes. The foundation can participate in companies that pursue the same purposes. The foundation can merge with other foundations that pursue the same purposes, if this appears to be strategically or economically reasonable and promotes the achievement of the purpose. The foundation is active throughout Switzerland and internationally. The foundation does not have any profit-oriented activity as its goal, therefore it does not strive for profit. However, it can engage in economic activities to obtain resources to finance its purpose and is involved in economic life to the extent necessary to carry out its projects within its purposes. If resources result from such activities, they are available solely to the foundation to achieve its idealistic and non-profit goals. Based on its idealistic and non-profit purpose, the foundation strives for tax exemption, so that, among other things, donations from third parties to it are also tax-deductible for donors. The foundation is politically and religiously neutral.
