The purpose of the foundation is: • to provide assistance and support to non-profit animal shelters, particularly those located in the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft - and in exceptional cases also in the rest of Switzerland - that deal with dogs and cats; • to provide support that enables stray dogs or cats to be housed in animal shelters and/or with private individuals, primarily in Basel-Stadt or Basel-Landschaft; • to support individuals residing mainly in Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft who, due to financial reasons, cannot afford to keep a dog or cat, by covering the costs of maintenance such as dog tax, food, shelter, and veterinary expenses, thereby enabling them to acquire a pet or keep their existing one.
