The foundation focuses particularly on a software protocol developed for this purpose, the associated community, and the ecosystem. The software protocol pursues the mentioned goals and consists of an on-chain layer, an off-chain layer, and other technologies, including an app that enables users to interact with the on-chain layer. To this end, the foundation can (i) receive and distribute funding contributions and participate in companies and other institutions in Switzerland and abroad; (ii) generate, receive, hold, and issue tokens and other digital and non-digital assets; (iii) develop, support, expand, and publish standards and software code; (iv) develop, promote, and expand community-driven governance systems that involve ecosystem participants, whether at the protocol, parameter, or foundation governance level; (v) promote, manage, and orchestrate the surrounding ecosystem of software, technologies, and applications supported by the foundation; (vi) organize events and raise awareness of software, technologies, and applications supported by the foundation; (vii) collaborate or partner with public or private institutions, organizations, individuals, and organizations; (viii) acquire, hold, or grant intellectual property rights and licenses of all kinds; (ix) take marketing and distribution measures for the software, technologies, and applications supported by the foundation; (x) conduct all business and promote and/or conclude all transactions and generally perform all actions and things necessary, appropriate, incidental, or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described herein. The purpose can be concretized by the foundation council in a foundation regulation. The foundation can also create an internal control system (hereinafter the ICS) that includes governance and control principles for the foundation and the HART ecosystem during all project phases. The guiding principle for the ICS is the value creation interests of the HART ecosystem participants. The foundation council shall issue the ICS in the form of a separate regulation. The ICS can be changed at any time by a decision of the foundation council. The foundation can also transfer the fulfillment of its tasks to other organizations, create such organizations, and/or promote existing organizations. The foundation can fulfill its purpose through its own employees or outsource the fulfillment of tasks to external partners. The foundation can participate in other companies and establish subsidiaries in Switzerland and abroad. The foundation can make profits, provided and to the extent that this is necessary for the financing of the project and the development of the innovation. Within the framework of its purpose, the foundation can operate in Switzerland and abroad.
