The foundation's purpose is to provide occupational pension provision within the framework of the Swiss Federal Pension Act (BVG) and the Liechtenstein Pension Act (BPVG) and their implementing provisions for the employees and employees of the founding company and companies economically and/or financially closely related to it, as well as for their dependents and beneficiaries against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability. This group includes, in particular, the Martin Hilti Family Trust, as well as any beneficiary (including their dependents) of the Martin Hilti Family Trust, Hilti Befestigungstechnik AG, Buchs, and Hilti (Switzerland) AG, Adliswil. Furthermore, the following are considered affiliated companies within the meaning of this provision: Hilti Foundation, Schaan, Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein, Schaan, Hilti Art Foundation, Schaan, and Ursula Zindel-Hilti Foundation, Schaan. Before another affiliated company can be admitted, the foundation board must decide on this, in particular with regard to compliance with the foundation's purpose. The affiliation of affiliated companies is based on a written affiliation agreement, which must be notified to the supervisory authority. The foundation can provide additional pension benefits beyond the statutory minimum benefits, including support services in cases of need such as illness, accident, or unemployment. The foundation's purpose can be fulfilled through an autonomous pension fund, provided the insurance-technical requirements are met; through insurance contracts, where the foundation must be the policyholder and beneficiary; or through a retirement savings plan with supplementary risk insurance. The foundation can provide contributions, benefits, or insurance premiums to other tax-exempt pension institutions that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries.
