The association is independent and objective in its dealings with governments, political parties, other organizations and individuals, and has, among other things, the following objectives: To advance cosmetic science. To contribute to the improvement of the professional status of cosmetic science and technology worldwide by providing and promoting educational and scientific programs and activities. To promote basic research at universities and by independent researchers in all areas that can contribute to knowledge of cosmetic science. To coordinate the work and efforts of the autonomous member societies through correspondence, exchange of information and other means. To strengthen relationships by reporting on activities in the various autonomous member societies. To publish and disseminate scientific and technical literature. To support researchers in obtaining information, literature, patents and other resources from all countries, as desired and possible. To exchange information on all standardized procedures that can be adopted for the analysis of raw materials or finished products, the efficiency of products, etc., and to participate in all efforts to achieve international adoption of such procedures. To make the activities of the societies of all countries known within the member societies and in the trade and other press of the various countries. To organize congresses, seminars and meetings at the international level; to invite speakers from all countries, whenever possible, and to announce all meetings in a timely manner. To promote international awards for outstanding achievements in research, publications or other work in the field of cosmetic science.
