The association pursues exclusively and directly non-profit, non-political, scientific and related purposes. The association pursues the following purposes: a) to promote, at national and international level, the understanding that protection of intellectual property in the broadest sense is necessary, unfair competition must be combated and the development of intellectual property protection must be supported; b) to analyze and compare existing laws and new legislative proposals, to suggest improvements and to promote their harmonization; c) to advocate for the development, expansion and improvement of international conventions and agreements on intellectual property protection; d) to promote education and training in the field of intellectual property protection and comparable rights. The association pursues its purposes in particular through: a) the public dissemination of information, including the creation and distribution of publications; b) the organization of meetings; c) interventions with governments and intergovernmental bodies as well as national, regional and international organizations.
