The association aims to promote the religious, cultural and social interests of Muslims in Zurich and Switzerland, regardless of their nationality and ethnic affiliation, as well as the material well-being of Muslims living in Switzerland. The association takes care of the religious, national, cultural and social concerns of its members in their region and works with Somali and Swiss authorities to solve problems; the association strives to provide Muslims living in its area of activity with the necessary opportunities to practice their religion and to improve them; it provides information to those interested in Islam, and if necessary, buys, rents or builds buildings for religious, social and cultural purposes; it carries out social, cultural and sporting activities; if necessary, it forms service groups within the association's premises; it promotes the social integration of the Somali population in their area and conducts courses, seminars, etc. for this purpose; under no circumstances does it engage in political activities itself.
