The Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Switzerland is organized as an umbrella association, whose main purpose is to bring together the local and regional Islamic associations of Bosniaks under a unified leadership and to ensure a unified organization. As such, the umbrella association represents both its own and the general interests and concerns of its members to the public and the institutions in Switzerland. The umbrella association promotes interreligious dialogue and the integration of Muslims living in Switzerland, particularly Muslims of Bosniak origin. Furthermore, the association aims to achieve the following: Enabling, ensuring, and promoting the practice of religion by Muslims of Bosniak origin living in Switzerland in accordance with the Federal Constitution of the Swiss Confederation and Swiss laws; the association follows the Hanafi school of jurisprudence in the practice and interpretation of Islam; Preservation and continuation of Bosniak tradition and culture, with attention paid to making these understandable and accessible to the Swiss population; Promotion and support of the education of Bosniaks in Switzerland; Ensuring and striving to protect the human rights and religious rights of Bosniaks living in Switzerland; Ensuring and enabling the religious and moral education of Bosniaks in Switzerland; Organization and support in the organization of religious instruction in the individual mosques or local and regional Islamic associations of Bosniaks that are members of this umbrella association; Ensuring and striving for the training of specialized personnel for religious and cultural instruction within the umbrella association and in the individual associations; Organization of lectures, seminars, continuing education events, panel discussions, courses, festivals, celebrations, and the like, as well as pilgrimages; Cooperation and exchange with Swiss institutions and authorities to promote integration and better coexistence; Cooperation with and involvement in other associations, organizations, and institutions that are committed to peace among people and religions, justice, and the well-being of all people, regardless of their religious or cultural objectives; Efforts to prevent the spread of negative habits and harmful influences on society, such as the consumption of and trade in drugs and alcohol, prostitution, and any form of criminality, as well as providing assistance to those in need, provided that this is financially and morally justifiable.
