The International Wrist Arthroscopy Society (IWAS) is an association representing surgeons interested in and practicing wrist, hand surgery and arthroscopy. Its aim is to contribute to the improvement of healthcare, education, innovation and progress in the spirit of international friendship. The purpose of the association is to promote advances in the field of wrist, hand surgery and arthroscopy in all aspects, including knowledge transfer and education through publications and scientific conferences; promoting personal collaboration among hand surgeons and their cooperation partners; improving quality control and outcome measurement in wrist, hand surgery and arthroscopy; observing the socio-economic impact of wrist, hand surgery and arthroscopy; and preserving the history and culture of wrist, hand surgery and arthroscopy. The association's activities are carried out without profit motive; however, contributions and fees for services may be collected in pursuit of its objectives.
