(a) The primary purpose of the foundation is to support needy communities and institutions or families and individuals in distress in Swiss mountain regions. Within the same framework, assistance can also be provided to cooperatives, corporations, and other carriers of public and non-profit functions of the Swiss mountain population, primarily to promote and disseminate solidarity with the local mountain inhabitants. (b) Furthermore, the foundation can also provide support for humanitarian aid in distressed areas of third-world countries or directly to families and individuals in distress in third-world countries. (c) Within the scope of the purpose defined in (a) and (b), foundation funds can also be used for contributions to other regional or global non-profit organizations serving the foundation's purpose or for activities in the sense of the foundation's purpose at the discretion of the foundation board. The foundation has an exclusively non-profit character and pursues no commercial goals and is not profit-oriented. The foundation refrains from any political activity.
