Joud Foundation is a non-profit foundation aiming to contribute to a peaceful and successful future in the region. The purpose of the foundation is to develop community structures, programs, and services that promote and support a sustainable and thriving existence for Palestinians in East Jerusalem and other areas. Such programs and services include, among others, economic development, establishment of educational, cultural, and health facilities, planning and organization of community institutions, and development of properties for public spaces and buildings, as well as affordable housing. The foundation seeks to establish strategic principles and guidelines for the implementation of the aforementioned activities through its local partners. It can directly finance the establishment of community facilities and private housing, and/or provide loans and/or guarantees to local financial institutions for the financing of these projects. The foundation is subject to the 2011 ICC recommendations on anti-corruption and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
