The non-profit foundation supports needy patients or individuals in care, as well as research projects of the Bürgerspital Basel and the University Hospital Basel. In exceptional cases, the foundation may also support research projects at another hospital or medical research institution. In the event of a transfer of one or both of the aforementioned hospitals to a legal successor, the purpose will be fulfilled by the respective legal successor. If one of the aforementioned hospitals is dissolved without a legal successor, the purpose will be fulfilled by the remaining hospital. If both hospitals are dissolved without a legal successor, the purpose will be fulfilled at other hospitals in Northwestern Switzerland. The foundation may engage in all activities that fall within the scope of the foundation's purpose or are related to it in a material way. Additionally, the foundation manages an employer fund for the benefit of Kämpf AG in Basel or its potential legal successors, as well as for companies that are economically or financially closely linked to Kämpf AG. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
