The foundation primarily aims to support the welfare assets of the Weavers' Guild (assets for the fulfillment of guardianship and social assistance tasks), secondarily to support the welfare/poor relief assets of other Bernese guilds and societies as well as the City of Bern, thereby contributing to the support of needy persons within the jurisdiction of the guilds and societies of Bern or the City of Bern, and tertiary to support other needy persons in the canton of Bern. If the primary purpose of the foundation can no longer be fulfilled because this task is no longer assigned to the guild or the above-mentioned purpose has lost its significance or effect, the foundation's income shall be used to support the guild life of the founder, secondarily also the guild system of other Bernese guilds and societies in the city of Bern, as well as the properties of the old town, in particular the guild house of the founder, and in furtherance other guild properties of the Bernese guilds and societies, as Bernese cultural heritage. Only the income from the foundation's assets, but not the assets themselves, may be used to achieve the purpose of the foundation or the substitute purpose.
