The foundation aims to a) promote and support the Basel Zoological Garden 1. by providing contributions to the acquisition and modern animal husbandry, primarily parrots and other bird species, with the goal of bringing the conservation measures to be pursued closer to the visitors and publishing them; 2. by providing contributions to the expansion of enclosures and new facilities, especially for birds; b) promote and support the Basel Art Museum 1. by providing contributions to the purchase of paintings and sculptures; 2. the works of Basel and Swiss artists should be given special consideration; 3. the foundation's funds are to be used exclusively for the acquisition of specific works of art. In no case may the foundation's assets be used to cover the general operating expenses of the beneficiary institutions.
