Promotion of paleontological and zoological studies at the Natural History Museum Basel by providing financial contributions to the scientific processing of the paleontological collections of the Natural History Museum Basel, preferably from the Caribbean, South American and Pacific (including Indonesian) regions, to the acquisition of paleontological specialist literature for the Natural History Museum Basel and to cover expenses related to biostratigraphic investigations of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sediments, provided that the relevant material is stored at the Natural History Museum Basel, to the scientific processing of the zoological collections of the Natural History Museum Basel and to publications on scientific work and investigations in the aforementioned fields.
