The association promotes the Tamil language, culture, tradition and social development of the Tamil population; the association enables and supports cultural exchange and integration in Switzerland; the association may use up to 20 percent of its financial assets to alleviate emergency situations in Switzerland and in the homeland; the association is a point of contact for Tamil-specific questions and information in Switzerland; the association trains and supports working groups for the realization of projects, events and other activities; the association provides support for reintegration and rehabilitation projects as well as psychosocial development projects for war-disabled and orphaned young people and widowed women in northeastern Sri Lanka.
