The Foundation is a non-profit organization whose scope of work will be realized in Switzerland and internationally. The foundation aims to promote freedom of information, transparency of government affairs and any other matter of public interest for scientific, historical and educational purposes. Support projects that aim to promote or encourage peace or international understanding, or to reduce or discourage wars or conflicts. Support the arts and culture in the digital field in order to encourage public debate on the relationship between digital technology and people, with a view to an informed, democratic and just society. Support the defense, freedom and/or security of individuals who are or have been politically persecuted due to their role as journalists, editors, whistleblowers or other roles related to promoting public access to information or promoting peace. Support legal efforts and campaigns aimed at preventing or challenging political persecution, state crime (including its facilitation by non-state actors), the dissemination of false or misleading information, or violations of human rights or civil liberties. When such violations occur, support activities that mitigate their impact, prevent them from happening again, ensure accountability, or document events. Support prisoners and former prisoners as well as their families. Support the development of software, technical infrastructure and research and development efforts that may facilitate the achievement of the aforementioned goals.
