The Foundation pursues the following purposes: (a) by providing services for the public good worldwide in the fields of architecture, industrial and graphic design, and urban planning; (b) by making contributions, donations, or other transfers to foundations, institutions, or other organizations or trusts that pursue goals in the fields of architecture, industrial and graphic design, and urban planning, or at least some of these fields; (c) by sponsoring or conducting national (including all countries of the world) or international competitions and awarding grants, scholarships, prizes, or other payments intended to promote or recognize public-benefit achievements in the fields of architecture, industrial and graphic design, or urban planning; and (d) by pursuing other similar goals and purposes for the public benefit as determined by the Foundation Council from time to time; (e) making expenditures and distributions; (f) managing its assets in the manner provided for in the deed and/or the bylaws and/or the regulations; (g) preserving the Casa de Retiro and the surrounding land (municipality of El Ronquillo, province of Seville, Spain) as well as the outbuildings on this land; La Casa de Retiro may be made accessible to the public by prior appointment. (h) it shall take over and finance the construction of a yet-to-be-built museum and be responsible for its maintenance according to a program to be established annually by the house administrator for ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. The museum shall permanently exhibit the work of Emilio Ambasz as well as present temporary exhibitions on ecological/green architecture inspired by his pioneering style of architecture. These annual exhibitions shall be organized according to a program proposed by the curator of the museum. The Foundation shall finance all these permanent and temporary exhibitions and be responsible for their respective maintenance. (k) architectural schools, professional associations, museums, etc. may not be granted donations in the form of capital contributions, transfers, or donations. The only donations that may be granted to these types of institutions are those that serve to promote the purposes mentioned in Section A. (Foundation's mission statement) and exclusively for physical or digital exhibitions and conferences as well as publications and donations to individuals. The Foundation renounces any profit-making or self-help purposes or profit orientation.
