The foundation has the following purposes: 1. It supports blind or visually impaired people living in modest financial circumstances. 2. It provides emergency aid to people in Switzerland who have fallen into an existential crisis due to natural or environmental disasters. 3. It enables people to take vacations who could not afford them without corresponding support. The foundation is free to fulfill its purposes as it sees fit. As a rule, it fulfills these purposes by paying contributions to those affected, families, and communities. However, it can also launch its own projects or support non-profit organizations that pursue a similar purpose or operate a project that corresponds to the foundation's purposes. The foundation board is free to allocate the foundation's resources within the three foundation purposes. It can redefine these annually or fix the allocation to the individual purposes within the framework of a regulation. The foundation does not pursue any commercial purposes. It is politically and denominationally neutral.
