The foundation does not pursue any commercial purpose. Its purpose is to promote culture and art in all forms of expression and design, particularly in Switzerland. In this field, the foundation specifically aims to promote, establish and manage exhibitions, publications, study activities, seminars, as well as studies and productions of works of visual (painting, sculpture, photography, video, installations and performances), lyrical, dramatic, theatrical, film, costume and architectural art. In pursuing its purpose, the foundation may: - participate in or contribute to humanitarian activities; - establish prizes, scholarships, courses and competitions; - conduct research and studies itself or assign them to external employees or institutes; - promote documentation activities in the fields of its competence; - organize seminars, symposia, congresses, conferences, exhibitions and artistic and cultural events; - take care of the protection, restoration, promotion and enhancement of items of artistic and historical interest, also in collaboration with other Swiss and foreign cultural centers and with public and private institutions. The foundation operates in the manner and with the means that the foundation board considers suitable in each case to achieve the institutional goals. The foundation may acquire the means necessary to achieve its purpose and, if necessary, acquire movable and immovable assets.
