The foundation aims, on the one hand, to preserve, maintain, disseminate and convey the artistic work of Markus Raetz, in particular by storing and inventorying the works created by him, establishing, maintaining and continuing an archive of Markus Raetz's entire oeuvre, by initiating and supporting exhibition activities and publications, as well as by granting loans and taking other suitable measures and activities. The foundation is active nationally and internationally within the scope of its purpose. The foundation may hold and manage the copyrights to Markus Raetz's works and grant licenses. The foundation may make the archive of Markus Raetz's artistic work accessible for research purposes and may publish or advise and support the publishers and authors of catalogues raisonnés. The foundation may authenticate works attributed to Markus Raetz. The foundation is free to transfer individual works, groups or the entire collection as permanent loans to suitable institutions (museums, foundations, etc.) that guarantee to use the artworks in accordance with the foundation's purpose. Under the same condition, the foundation may donate individual works or groups to suitable institutions. The foundation board may sell works from the foundation's collection by unanimous decision, provided that the founder or her late husband Markus Raetz has not designated the respective works as non-saleable and the proceeds serve the purpose of the foundation. If the founder has given instructions or conditions when dedicating artworks, these must be observed. The foundation may also promote creative and scientific activities in the fields of art, culture and education. To this end, it may support works, projects and events that are suitable for promoting the creation, maintenance and dissemination of artistic work in the broadest sense (including visual arts, music, literature, design, film, photography, dance, architecture, etc.). In addition, the foundation aims to support organizations for people with disabilities and other institutions and individuals who work for people with disabilities, particularly those with severe disabilities, with the goal of improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. It may also directly support people with disabilities and severe disabilities. Furthermore, the foundation may also promote and support medical and scientific research in the field of severe disabilities and other areas. The foundation board is free to allocate the funds. There is no obligation to pursue all the mentioned goals or to support the pursued goals equally. The foundation is politically and denominationally neutral and pursues exclusively non-profit purposes. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit.
