Contribute to global expertise to innovate and create new approaches and tools to support efforts to reduce maternal, neonatal, infant and adolescent mortality and morbidity in disadvantaged populations; support research and development, provide services and advice, and build capacity in innovative public health projects, programs and systems in stable and humanitarian emergency situations; seek and develop innovative new approaches to maternal, neonatal, infant and adolescent health care and treatment. Support institutions in setting research priorities and systematic reviews; develop capacity-building tools and training materials to support programs, projects and institutions in their efforts to build capacity to reduce mortality and morbidity in maternal and child health; provide services to projects, programs and institutions to promote and protect the health of vulnerable communities, including women and children; provide services to support preparedness for emergency situations and emergency management for women and children in natural disasters such as emerging diseases and human-made emergency situations such as conflicts.
