The institution is responsible for supplying the area of the political municipality of Küsnacht with electricity, gas, water, district heating, and data services. It may also conduct other related business activities. The supply of electricity to the Forch area may be transferred to EKZ, subject to cantonal allocation. It is obligated to ensure the basic electricity supply in accordance with Article 3 of the statutes and the water supply. It distributes electricity beyond the basic supply, gas, district heating, and provides data services, as well as other infrastructure services at its discretion, and operates these activities in accordance with economic and competitive principles. The institution promotes sustainable energy production and the sustainable and economical use of energy and water, while adhering to economic principles. It may also be active outside the political municipality of Küsnacht. It complies with higher-level laws and performs the tasks assigned to the municipality by the federal government and the canton within its area of activity.
