The association aims to promote science and technology for the long-term global common good and to reduce global risks for the future progress of civilization. The association is primarily active as a funding organization. It is active in the areas of safety and control of artificial intelligence, biosecurity, applied analytical philosophy, impact evaluation and decision-making, as well as other areas relevant to the long-term global common good. The initiatives supported include, among others: research organizations and independent research, educational scholarships and career development, policy research and implementation, public campaigns and non-partisan political engagement for the common good, publications (e.g. scientific papers and educational media), as well as activities for building up research fields (e.g. events and workshops). The association pursues its goals both domestically and internationally. The association does not pursue commercial interests and is not profit-oriented.
