The foundation pursues the following objectives: a) to protect, conserve and enhance the built heritage of the city of Rue and its immediate surroundings; b) to encourage high-quality contemporary architecture that is in harmony with its natural and built environment; c) to protect the beauty of the landscape from destruction, disfigurement and speculative exploitation; d) to preserve movable heritage; e) to initiate or carry out construction or renovation projects on the city of Rue's heritage buildings; f) to promote the study and practice of traditional arts and crafts, particularly in the field of building techniques; g) to support and encourage the development of high-quality tourism that is in line with the values promoted by the foundation; h) to organize cultural and tourist events. The founders reserve the right to request changes to the foundation's objectives in accordance with Article 86a of the Swiss Civil Code. The foundation does not pursue any profit-making or commercial objectives. In carrying out its objectives, the foundation may develop projects for both public and privately owned heritage. If a public corporation is legally required to provide services similar to those of the foundation, the foundation will only intervene on a subsidiary basis. The foundation may acquire and sell movable and immovable property.
