The foundation aims to provide occupational pension benefits within the framework of the BVG and its implementing provisions for the employees of Helvetia Schweizerische Versicherungsgesellschaft AG and Helvetia Schweizerische Lebensversicherungsgesellschaft AG, both of which are (direct or indirect) group companies of Helvetia Holding AG and are hereinafter referred to individually as employers, in Switzerland and their dependents and beneficiaries, as well as for the foundation's own employees and their dependents and beneficiaries, against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability, as well as in cases of special need. The foundation may also provide benefits to other persons for whom an employee has demonstrably provided support until the end. Other companies economically or financially closely related to Helvetia Holding AG or one of its (direct or indirect) group companies in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein may join the foundation by written accession agreement (a joined group company or undertaking hereinafter referred to individually as an employer). Such agreements must be notified to the supervisory authority. The foundation board shall issue one or more regulations on the benefits, organization, administration, and financing, as well as on the control of the foundation. It shall define the relationship with the employers, the insured persons, and the beneficiaries in the regulations. The regulations may be amended by the foundation board, subject to the preservation of the acquired rights of the beneficiaries. All these regulations and their amendments must be submitted to the supervisory authority together with the respective confirmation of the recognized expert in accordance with Art. 52d BVG. To achieve its purpose, the foundation may conclude insurance contracts or enter into existing contracts, in which it is the policyholder and beneficiary.
