The foundation aims to improve the living conditions of the population in developing countries, particularly the weakest and poorest segments, in a sustainable manner, especially with regard to nutrition, hygiene, health, housing, education, employment, poverty reduction, and protection from physical and psychological violence and exploitation. This is to be achieved primarily through support for projects that guide the target group towards better self-awareness and utilization of their own potential (help for self-help); hospitals, medical outpatient clinics, and training centers that are accessible to all population groups at affordable costs; research institutes that aim to effectively combat diseases prevalent in these countries and appear to be capable of doing so; groups and projects in Europe and developing countries that effectively support drug and other addicts in their efforts to overcome their addiction and reintegrate into society; combating the depopulation of mountain and rural areas in Switzerland and Italy by supporting groups and projects that aim to preserve social and village structures, create jobs, and secure school education; and promoting the realization of independent ideas and goals that can be of sustainable social, cultural, ecological, and/or social significance for a (possibly small) living space.
