The purpose of the foundation is to provide financial support to middle-class and lower-class individuals of Swiss nationality suffering from lung disease or other forms of tuberculosis, or long-term illnesses, to undergo medical treatment in Davos. Support can be provided through direct payment or reimbursement of costs for recognized medical services, through contributions to institutions that care for such patients, or by covering costs indirectly related to long-term illness. However, this is subject to the condition that health insurance or social welfare authorities are not responsible for covering these costs. Patients of other nationalities suffering from lung disease, tuberculosis, or other long-term illnesses can receive subsidiary support if they have a special connection to Switzerland through birth, maternal heritage, long-term residence, or other circumstances. The foundation's support should always be limited to individual cases and not include recurring benefits, except for contributions to institutions that care for long-term patients.
