The association is an independent non-profit organization aiming to create, in collaboration with multilateral organizations, the private sector, regulatory authorities, and communities worldwide, an affordable and easily accessible blockchain-based payment instrument that facilitates the establishment of a better-connected global payment system and provides financial and other services to those who need them most. The association may conduct all business and enter into contracts that are suitable for promoting its purpose or are related thereto. It may establish branches and representations both domestically and abroad and may participate in companies. It may acquire, hold, manage, encumber, and dispose of real property, except for transactions prohibited by the Federal Act on the Acquisition of Real Estate by Persons Abroad (BewG). It may develop, acquire, hold, dispose of, grant licenses for, or grant corresponding licenses for rights in the field of intellectual property or industrial property protection.
