The Association aims to promote active solidarity with dominated population groups, mainly in developing or emerging countries. It is committed to fair globalization and sustainable development. It demands that human rights always take precedence over economic rights or interests. The Association aims to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged populations in developing or emerging countries. The Association's actions are carried out in accordance with and in the spirit of the 1968 Berne Declaration and with the aim of promoting development based on the strengths and culture of the populations concerned. It is committed, in agreement and cooperation with the people concerned, to defending the social, economic and political interests of individuals or groups of individuals abroad who are harmed or likely to be harmed by human rights violations or environmental protection standards, as well as by criminal offenses, such as corruption, the granting or acceptance of an advantage, money laundering, by Swiss companies or other actors, as well as by offenses under Titles 12bis to 12quater of the Swiss Penal Code (such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes). To this end, the Association is authorized to take any negotiating step and to bring any legal or administrative action, as well as to file a criminal complaint in its own name and to join as a party in criminal proceedings to assert the rights of the individuals or groups of individuals concerned, in particular to prohibit harm, to cease harm, to establish the illegality of harm and to compensate for harm. In this context, it does not engage its own assets. In this sense, the Association mainly intends to: disseminate information on development issues; express public positions on events involving Switzerland and developing or emerging countries; call on individuals and institutions to take a stand on the relationship between Switzerland and developing or emerging countries; support or create working groups or action groups involved in development policy; actively participate in the coordination of national organizations working in the field of development and collaborate, if necessary, with movements whose action aims at another development in Switzerland; encourage its groups and members to make their commitment to solidarity and change credible through concrete engagement and financial commitment; represent the interests of individuals or groups of individuals abroad who are harmed or likely to be harmed by human rights violations or environmental protection standards, as well as by criminal offenses, such as corruption, the granting or acceptance of an advantage, money laundering, by Swiss companies or other economic actors; or to initiate corresponding criminal proceedings. The Association does not manage its own development projects in developing or emerging countries. The Association is active in the three main linguistic regions of Switzerland. In the course of its activities, the Association takes into account the specificities and needs of each region in an optimal manner, and in particular the cultural differences.
