The foundation promotes public benefit; it motivates natural and legal persons to dedicate assets for public benefit purposes of all kinds, such as in the areas of supporting and promoting social and charitable works (e.g. in the areas of youth, disabled and elderly care, health care, international development cooperation), promoting science, research, art and culture in all their possible forms, as well as promoting nature, environmental and species conservation and the idea of international understanding. The foundation supports, for example, efforts, events or projects of institutions, organizations or natural persons in Switzerland and abroad that promote the foundation's purpose, or initiates such efforts, events or projects directly. The activities of the institutions, organizations and persons can be nationally or internationally oriented. The foundation can also make non-repayable grants, such as scholarships, grants or sponsorship contributions, to natural persons, institutions or organizations in Switzerland and abroad, and award prizes to individuals, institutions or organizations. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. It is politically and denominationally neutral; complete purpose description according to the foundation deed.
