In this sense, the foundation primarily aims to raise funds to ensure the allocation of financial resources (so-called Alternative Nobel Prize) awarded annually by the Right Livelihood Award Foundation Sweden to various laureates in recognition and support of their work. According to the statutes of the Right Livelihood Award Foundation Sweden, this prize is awarded to individuals who are committed to social issues, human rights, peace and conflict resolution, minority rights, and environmental protection. The funds received by the foundation through donations, legacies, or other contributions from third parties are generally allocated to the Right Livelihood Award Foundation Sweden. The foundation's board of directors decides on exceptions (e.g., use of funds to increase the foundation's assets, use of funds to cover administrative or other costs). In addition, the foundation aims to support the laureates by conducting information and public relations work in Switzerland. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
