The foundation's primary purpose is to support needy family members of the two families Rohte and Corssen, i.e. the relatives of Oscar and Emma Rohte-Corssen. This includes: all descendants in all degrees of the spouses Gustav H. Rohte and Emmy Eleonore Rohte née Graeven, as well as Ferdinand Corssen and Emilie Corssen née Christensen; all persons related to these descendants in any way. In second place, if sufficient funds are available, the following persons can be supported in the following order: persons who are related to or otherwise closely connected to the above-mentioned persons; other persons or for general charitable purposes. Support is to be granted in cases of need, particularly in cases of illness. Furthermore, contributions are to be made for education and training in professional and scientific respects. In accordance with Art. 335 of the Swiss Civil Code, the foundation board alone determines who is entitled to support and the amount of support to be granted. The beneficiaries have no enforceable claim to support.
