to contribute to the preservation and respect of human rights and dignity, in accordance with established international standards; to promote awareness of human rights among Arab peoples; to encourage global dialogue on the values of justice, tolerance and rejection of bigotry, and to promote, among other things, the principles of understanding, constructive humanistic dialogue, respect for individual freedoms and acceptance of others; to commit to strengthening respect and defense of human rights in situations where humanitarian aid is necessary; monitoring of crimes against civilians and non-combatants in war zones (cf. statutes for full purpose).
