The foundation aims to build, maintain and make accessible a collection of items, including books, pictures, graphics, postcards, brochures, posters and photographs, which have a close connection to the municipality of Vals and the Vals Valley in the canton of Grisons. It is active in the Vals Valley region. To achieve this purpose, the collection is expanded through purchases or donations from third parties whenever possible; the collection is stored, maintained and made accessible to the interested public in suitable premises; the foundation operates an online catalog; organizes and hosts exhibitions within and outside its storage facilities; and makes its collection available to third parties as loans for exhibition purposes. If the foundation's financial resources permit and the main purpose of the foundation is not compromised, it supports artists who are active in the fields of visual arts, photography, film, graphics, etc. and have a close connection to the municipality of Vals. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose. Profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose.
