The association advocates for a comprehensive, efficient, and patient-oriented General Internal Medicine (AIM) and ensures the promotion of young specialists in this field. It closely cooperates with organizations that represent professional and tariff-related interests in this context. The purpose of the association is: to represent the professional interests of specialists in General Internal Medicine (AIM), including both general practitioners and physicians working in general internal medicine clinics; to ensure the administration of the specialist title; to promote professional education (initial, continuing, and further education) in collaboration with the Departments of General Internal Medicine / Institutes of General Practice at universities and other recognized training institutions; to advocate for the promotion of the professional quality of General Internal Medicine; to promote General Internal Medicine in Switzerland both scientifically and practically.
