The founders' intention is to primarily support neurological and neuroscientific research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's disease and sleep-wake disorders. The foundation aims to promote research in the field of university-based neurological and neuroscientific research at its seat. The research supported shall be conducted on the basis of recognized scientific methods with the goal of making research results and findings available for the general public. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not strive for profit. The foundation achieves its purpose through financial and personnel support in the field of neurological research on Parkinson's disease and sleep-wake disorders, as well as through the competitive allocation of its resources to neurological and neuroscientific research groups at universities at the foundation's seat. This includes promoting the conduct and organization of clinical studies, basic research, and the publication of research results and findings. Additionally, the foundation aims to promote the dissemination of scientific, medical, and qualitative knowledge, the organization and conduct of medical congresses and training events, as well as personnel support in this area. In pursuit of its purpose, the foundation may also award scholarships to individuals, finance publications, and support other organizations or individuals in any possible form.
