Association of individuals, institutes, and companies interested in vacuum generation and application, and a member of the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA). The goal is to promote the exchange of information, Swiss and foreign research results, orientation on technical progress, organization of lectures, vacuum courses and working meetings, as well as the publication and dissemination of publications and information. The promotion of basic and application-oriented knowledge in experience exchange groups (ERFA groups), through networking (support of personal and business relationships and their networks) and joint platforms for advertising and lobbying, as well as the offer of selected services, are among the activities of the society. The society can promote, for example, the following ERFA groups: Vacuum in Research and Development; Vacuum Metallurgy and its Applications; Vacuum for Hard and Decorative Coatings; Vacuum Plasma Processes and Applications; Vacuum in Semiconductor and Data Storage Applications; Vacuum in Chemistry and Pharmacy.
