Coordination, support, and promotion of the institutions of the Swiss blind, visually impaired, deafblind, and dual sensory impaired services, hereinafter referred to as the blind and deafblind services, in particular coordination of activities in the Swiss blind and deafblind services; coordination of representation of interests when needed; advice and support for deafblind and dual sensory impaired people; ensuring the further and advanced training of specialists in the Swiss blind and deafblind services; promotion and provision of blind technical aids, including necessary advice, as well as guide dogs; knowledge transfer and development services in the areas of aids and rehabilitation; promotion of research in the field of the blind and deafblind services; information of the public about the goals and activities of the SZB and its member organizations; coordination of knowledge management and transfer for people working in the blind and deafblind services.
