The purpose of the Foundation, a non-profit organization, is to promote digital innovation and rights through: the development of technology, the promotion of policies and education, the advocacy for rights-preserving technology, the advocacy for groups whose digital rights may be at risk, research, financing, support, operational and logistical activities, community and public relations and other activities in favor of the purpose (including, without limitation, through loans, grants, donations, gifts or other forms of support or agreements). The details of the purpose pursued by the Foundation are set out in a regulation. For this purpose, the Foundation may: a) receive and grant contributions and participate in companies and other institutions in Switzerland and abroad; b) create (mint), receive, store and sell distributed ledger-based digital tokens and other means; c) enable and support the development of secure, decentralized and emerging technologies that protect, maintain or promote digital rights; d) develop, support, deploy, expand and publish standards and software code; e) develop, support and expand community-driven governance systems to involve ecosystem participants in ecosystem-related matters, whether at the protocol, parameter or foundation governance level; f) promote, manage and orchestrate the surrounding ecosystem of the software codes supported by the Foundation; g) organize educational and other events and promote awareness of the supported software codes; h) collaborate or partner with public or private institutions, organizations, individuals and organizations; i) receive, acquire, hold or grant intellectual property rights and license rights of all kinds; j) conduct and promote all business and/or participate in all transactions, and generally take all actions and things that are necessary, appropriate, related or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described herein. The Foundation may also assign the fulfillment of its task to other organizations, create such organizations and/or promote existing organizations. The Foundation may fulfill its purpose through its own employees or outsource the fulfillment of tasks. The Foundation may have a profit-making purpose and generate profits within the framework of financing for the purpose and the development of the ecosystem. Within the framework of the purpose, the Foundation may be active in Switzerland and abroad. Potential beneficiaries related to the purpose and principles of the Foundation have no rights or claims against the Foundation.
