The Foundation's purpose is (i) to develop and promote the Shardeum ecosystem, (ii) to educate and train in the field of Shardeum technology, (iii) to raise public awareness about the Shardeum network and its applications, (iv) to hold and manage digital and non-digital assets for these purposes, and (v) to support, promote or invest in other projects/companies within the broader blockchain ecosystem. To fulfill its purpose, the Foundation may, in particular: support and finance suitable research and development activities, as well as projects, companies, and individuals directly or indirectly; invest in the development of intangible property rights relevant to the ecosystem; promote the Shardeum protocol in the public and educate about it; issue, receive, use, and store digital information units (tokens) (no speculative trading activities); contact various companies, partners, banks, regulators, authorities, or other third parties for the benefit of the Shardeum ecosystem; expend received contributions and participate in companies; acquire, hold, or grant trademark rights and other IP rights or licenses; organize conferences or other events that support and promote the Shardeum protocol; host, manage, and maintain websites and interfaces; create sub-foundations; conduct and promote all business and participate in all transactions, and generally take all actions necessary, appropriate, related, or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described herein. The Foundation may create a uniform framework for communication regarding the Shardeum ecosystem. To this end, the Foundation may issue a communication concept in the form of a regulation. The concept may be changed at any time by a decision of the Foundation Board. The Foundation may also create an Internal Control System (ICS), which covers the framework for the Foundation and the Shardeum ecosystem during all project phases. The guiding principle for the ICS and the framework for the Shardeum ecosystem is the value creation interests of the network participants. The Foundation Board shall issue the ICS in the form of a separate regulation. The ICS may be changed at any time by a decision of the Foundation Board. The Foundation may also transfer the fulfillment of its tasks to other organizations, create such organizations, and/or promote existing ones. The Foundation may fulfill its purpose through its own employees or outsource the fulfillment of tasks. The Foundation may participate in other companies and establish subsidiaries in Switzerland and abroad. The Foundation does not have a commercial purpose and does not aim to make a profit. The Foundation may make profits, to the extent necessary for the financing of the project and the development of the innovation. Within the scope of its purpose, the Foundation may operate in Switzerland and abroad.
