The Smart City Hub Switzerland is a non-profit association open to cities and municipalities, their companies (e.g. municipal utilities, supply companies, etc.), federal service providers, federal agencies, and universities that support and promote its purpose. It is politically, confessionally, and in every other respect neutral. The purpose of the association is to promote targeted cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of Smart City among cities, their companies, federal service providers, federal agencies, and research institutions. The association aims to support its members in exploiting synergies and bringing together the necessary knowledge and skills in the best possible way. To this end, the association can initiate, implement, execute, or support corresponding projects, programs, and events. The association's tasks include, in particular: Supporting members in implementing their Smart City projects, especially to save time and costs; Promoting an open dialogue and cooperation based on a common and uniform terminology; Promoting new, innovative, and citizen- or customer-oriented solutions, as well as exploiting synergies and economies of scale; Promoting cooperation and communication with other organizations and forming alliances that are committed to the field of Smart Cities; The association coordinates the development of technical guidelines for standardization and promotes uniform interfaces and offers nationwide; Representing the association's interests, among others, to the public, authorities, and politics; Taking on service mandates that serve the association's purpose and benefit its members.
